Bubbles is the creation of Clayburn and Grace Griffin. It’s a locally-owned Lovington business designed to provide the town with unique drink and snack options while giving people a nice place to hang out with family and friends.
Clayburn was born and raised in Lovington. He attended college in New York City and lived there afterward where he met Grace. After the birth of their first kid, Carnegie, they moved to Lovington. The house they purchased was attached to a vacant commercial property that used to be Noack’s Western Wear, which had closed down in the late 80s. It had been empty since.
Clayburn and Grace were eager to find ways to support the community, and with many vacant buildings all around town, they decided fixing up this old one they purchased would be a good start. After a lot of renovation, they came up with a plan for what to put inside it. Since the location is nearby Lovington High School and Taylor Middle School, and because Lovington doesn’t offer a lot for young kids to do, they started brainstorming ideas that would appeal to that demographic.
Eventually they decided on bubble tea, a fast-growing beverage craze that’s been spreading all across America. Their hope is that the tea shop will appeal to customers in Lovington and be able to provide a nice, fun environment where people can relax and treat themselves to something tasty.
